Studio's New Look: Calmer Decks, One Theme and Full-Screen Editing

A tour of what changed in Studio: flat deck cards you can sort and group, one full-screen Theme view, and live previews for the opening slide and the ending.

Studio has a quieter look this month, and the parts of a deck the room sees now open full screen with a live preview. Nothing moved far: your decks are where they were, and the editor still has a Theme tab and Poll Settings. Here is what is different and how to use it.

Your decks, easier to scan

Deck cards are flat now. A thin coloured strip and a small label say how each deck runs: Live session, Live quiz, Survey or Shareable poll. Under the title, one line shows its status, the number of slides, peak attendees, votes and the date. Your plan sits next to the workspace name at the top.

Filter, sort and group

Use the chips to show only Live, Survey or Poll decks. Sort orders them by last edited, date created, name, type, peak attendees or votes, either way round. Group puts them under months, years or types, or turns grouping off. Studio remembers your choice on this device, and the list view follows it too.

One Theme for the whole deck

Open Change theme

In the editor, the Theme tab shows the look in use. Change theme opens it full screen: a gallery of looks, each drawn on your own first question, beside a preview of the slide. Pick one, then Customize it with a background pattern, colours, your photo and your logo. Reset goes back to the look as it came. Choose Done to return to the editor.

Note

Looks other than the free ones, background patterns, colours and your photo come with Premium. Your logo on slides comes with Pro. An Event Pass lends the Premium look to the event it covers.

Edit the opening slide

The Theme tab also shows small pictures of the opening and closing slides. Edit opening slide opens a full-screen view with a tab for each slide: the fields on one side, and on the other the slide as the big screen draws it, in your deck's look, with a sample room code. The opening slide replaces the plain join screen in the lobby; the code and QR are always on it.

Choose what comes next

In Poll Settings, Choose what comes next opens the ending in the same way. Pick the feedback survey, another poll of yours, or just the results, and the preview shows the closing slide with the QR code the room scans. From there you can edit the survey's questions or preview it.

Contact details work the same way: when a survey asks for them at the end, the full-screen view shows the step beside a phone, exactly as people will see it.

Why full screen

These are the settings people judge by looking. Seeing the real slide while you change it, at full size, saves the round trip of presenting a test session to check how the lobby or the ending looks. On a phone, the preview sits above the settings.

Branding and looks by plan are on the pricing page.
