How to check this draw
How do you run a fair prize draw from a list of names?
Paste or upload one name per line. Choose how many winners you need for this run, then hit Draw. The tool locks the list, plays a short lottery animation on a full-screen stage, and lands on each winner in turn. You can draw again for the next prize without re-pasting; earlier winners stay out of the pool.
What locks before the draw?
Before each winner appears, the tool records a lock of a random seed chosen in this browser and a lock of the eligible names (sorted, one per line). The seed stays hidden until the reveal, so the lock is fixed before anyone sees the winner. Paste order does not change the lock or the winner. Open Proof after a draw to copy the receipt.
How can someone check the winner afterwards?
They need the names, the seed from the receipt, both locks, and the winning name. The check recomputes the locks and the winner. The winner is an index into the sorted names from a keyed hash of the seed and the list. A match means this seed picks this name from this list. It does not prove the draw was not restarted before anyone saw the first lock, so leave the stage visible until the room has seen the winner.
Are the names stored?
No. The names and the seed stay in this browser tab. They are not sent to PollsLive and they are not written to an account or a database. Refreshing or closing the tab drops them. There is no later lookup.
How is this different from drawing everyone who joined a session?
This page draws from a list you paste, which you can still edit before you draw. A PollsLive live session draws from the people who joined that room, and publishes the same kind of lock for that join list. That draw is on Event Pass and Pro.
